Dinner at Renzo's Ristorante in Hendersonville

We were invited recently to a soft opening at the new Renzo's restaurant in Hendersonville, North Carolina. (The planned public opening is March 25th, so call now for reservations!)

When I got the call inviting us to the soft opening, they said I could bring others so I asked two friends to join us. I'm glad I did, because we all had a wonderful time.

Maietto Renzo is originally from Italy, but he also spent 30 years designing and building beautiful homes in Florida before deciding to move to Hendersonville to open an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant in the former Mrs. G and Me's location. The new Renzo's offers delicious multi-course dinners in a sweet atmosphere...

Each couple started with an appetizer to share. My sweetheart and I had Insulata Caprese - Mozzarella Di Bufala, Roma tomatoes, and fresh basil with olive oil. It was perfect...

Our friends had Beef Carpaccio - thin slices of beef tenderloin with shaved Parmesan cheese and arugula, and garnished with lemon. Great presentation and delicious...

For our first course, my sweetheart and I shared homemade Lasagna Della Donna, with meatballs, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. The noodles were homemade, super thin, and out of this world. I hope my grandmother doesn't read my blog (God rest her soul) because these noodles were as good as hers...

We made it easy on our server by ordering the same entrees for each couple to share.  Grilled Shrimp drizzled balsamic vinaigrette, with summer squash and roasted potatoes...

...And Veal Saltimbocca with Prosciutto and sage, roasted potatoes, and spinach with golden raisins and pine nuts. It was fantastic...

And finally, each couple shared a dessert. We had homemade Fresh Strawberry Ice, which had a super smooth and sweet ice cream like texture...

And a warm slice of fresh, rich (and deliciously sweet) Almond Cake...

(Each night since our dinner at Renzo's I've been tempted to hop in the car and run down to Renzo's for another slice of that Almond Cake!)

The staff at Renzo's is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The combination of their spectacular food and great service will easily make Renzo's one of the best restaurants in Hendersonville, North Carolina. (Possibly the best!)
