Grandfather Mountain's Mile High Swinging Bridge lets visitors see 360-degree panoramic views. Safely observe cougars, white-tailed deer, black bears, river otters and a golden eagle in a natural setting. Enjoy the network of nature walks and trails through forests and meadows or through rugged terrain navigated by ladders and cables and enjoy the breathtaking views. Grandfather Mountain Nature Museum houses more than two dozen exhibits about the history of Grandfather Mountain and the surrounding region.

Grandfather Trout Farm and Gem Mine makes it easy for families to fish and prospect for precious gems. Bring your own fishing gear, or let Grandfather fit you with everything you need. And the gem mining operation provides all the equipment for prospectors of all ages. Just clean the ore in the flume with wooden screens. You can even take your gem finds to the Grandfather Gem Shop for identification, cutting and mounting.

Linville Caverns are conveniently located near Grandfather Mountain under Humpback Mountain in the southern high country between Marion and Linville, North Carolina. The beautiful Caverns offer an educational half-hour guided tour, as well as a fun gift and souvenir shop.
