The Cradle of Forestry provides a snap shot of life at America’s first school of Forestry. Walk along the Forest Festival Trail complete with a restored 1915 logging locomotive. Adventure Village combines outdoor adventures with lodging, offering cabin rentals for couples, families, and anglers, as well as RV sites with full RV hookups, and 40 tent campsites. Located on 90 acres near Dupont State Park, Adventure Village has swimming and wading pools, a playground, fishing pond, and camp store on site, and can arrange kayak and canoe trips on the river, and professionally guided fishing trips.

DuPont State Recreational Forest includes 10,400 acres in Transylvania and Henderson County, NC, with elevations from 2,240 ft. at Cascade Lake to 3,620 ft. at the peak of Stone Mountain. Little River runs through the forest, with four waterfalls. The forest also contains five lakes and over 80 miles of roads and trails for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians.

Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School is AMGA accredited, offering rock climbing and ice climbing trips and guiding in North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia. Climbing classes and skills courses are available for all experience levels.
Skinny Dip Falls
Location: 1/2-mile hike from Looking Glass Rock overlook at milepost 417 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Description: A swimming hole with clear, cold water, and a beautiful waterfall.
Location: Near Looking Glass Falls. Directions: At milepost 412 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, take U.S. Highway 276 South for approximately eight miles. Description: A 60-ft, rock water slide in Pisgah Forest.
