Grandfather Mountain’s Mile High Swinging Bridge lets visitors see 360-degree panoramic views. Safely observe cougars, white-tailed deer, black bears, river otters and a golden eagle in a natural setting. Enjoy the network of nature walks and trails through forests and meadows or through rugged terrain navigated by ladders and cables and enjoy the breathtaking views. Grandfather Trout Farm and Gem Mine makes it easy for families to fish and prospect for precious gems. Bring your own fishing gear, or let Grandfather fit you with everything you need. And the gem mining operation provides all the equipment for prospectors of all ages. Just clean the ore in the flume with wooden screens. You can even take your gem finds to the Grandfather Gem Shop for identification, cutting and mounting.
